The singer-songwriter duo of Jennifer Precious Finch (L7) and Xander Smith formed OtherStarPeople as a proto-Millennial, new wave, dance band. Soon after, the duo found dance equipment too be expensive, exploring what the two had previous been known for: hard-driving, indie pop / punk / new wave with real instruments. They enlisted the help of bassists Junko Ito and Ted Lesinski and drummers Chris Bratton (Chain of Strength) and Todd “Long Player” Phillips (Bullet Lavolta). ★ Other Star People ★

In 1999 they released “Diamond in the Belly of the Dog” on A&M Records – Produced by Roy Thomas Baker (Queen, David Bowie, T-Rex).

They made music and toured the world w/ Weezer, Queens of the Stoneage, Foo Fighters, and Echo & the Bunnymen.
